A Brief History of International Prayer Church (Trust)

The International Prayer Church (Trust) formed in its current set up through a God’s vision to its founder President Rev. Dr. P. Joseph James. Rev. Dr. P. Joseph James was born and brought up in a brethren family at Pathanamthitta Dist. Kerala, India. In the childhood itself God gifted him with many talents. At a very young age he used to minister the word of God in his Home Church at Mukkoottuthara. After his secular studies he joined India Christian Bible College at Ernakulam. After graduation he joined Bharat Bible College, Secunderabad for higher theological studies. After his theological studies he got a job in a reputed company namely KODAK at Muscat and at the same time he was holding the post of  Manager of another company also. Even after joining the company he was involved in church activities and God spoke to him many times through visions to leave his job and work as a full-time minister. By faith he left the job in the year 1996 and he left Muscat and joined as a full time Minister in the state Gujarat. After completing two years there, he came back to Kerala. While he was serving as the pastor at The Baptist Church at Vilangara, he was suffered a massive heart attack. Again, he suffered two major heart attacks. But God delivered him and saved his life. In the meantime, God gifted him with spiritual gifts like prophecy and spiritual healings. At the time of the second delivery of his wife, the baby was in a ‘Coma’ due to an unknown disease. Doctors who were attending to her told that there is no hope for the child as medical science has failed to be of help due to the seriousness of the illness. However, The President and his family took fasting prayer and decided to pray for their child until God answer their prayer and heal the baby. During the fasting prayer God gave him a vision to start a ministry and work for the Kingdom of God. Through that vision God has shown the name of the Ministry as “INTERNATIONAL PRAYER CHURCH”. By faith, he started this ministry in the name of International Prayer Church without getting any support from anybody. God is using Rev. Dr. P. Joseph James in a mighty way both in India and abroad. He is well known as a preacher, prophet, theologian, teacher, and an administrator. God is using him in many ways.
